Ingredients (Serves 2-4)

Main Ingredients

  • 1 - 2 lbs of ground beef
  • 1 head of iceberg lettuce, chopped
  • 1 container of cherry tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 white onion, diced
  • 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, quartered
  • 1 - 2 tbsp of olive or avocado oil
  • Favorite taco shells (soft or crunchy)
  • 1 - 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or a blend)

Taco Seasonings (Adjust to Taste)

  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

How to Make the Best Tacos

Step 1:  Prepare Your Toppings

Before cooking, get your toppings ready:

✔️Chop the lettuce, dice the onion and tomatoes, and grate the cheese.
✔️Remove cilantro leaves from the stems and give them a quick chop.
✔️Quarter the lime for squeezing over your tacos later.

Step 2:  Brown & Season the Meat

1️⃣Heat a pan over medium-high heat.
2️⃣Add olive or avocado oil and sauté the onions until softened and lightly browned.
3️⃣Add the ground beef, breaking it apart with a spoon.
4️⃣Once the meat begins to brown, mix in the seasonings.  Adjust to your taste for extra spice or smokiness!

Step 3:  Drain & Dispose of the Grease

Remember that grease can wreak havoc on your plumbing.  If you like your plumber, invite them over for tacos, not to fix your clogged drains!

Using a slotted spoon, remove the cooked taco meat and place it in a bowl.  Now, for easy cleanup:

✔️Grab a Piggy Pouch, open it up, and carefully pour the hot grease inside.
✔️Zip it closed and toss in the trash - no clogged drains, no lingering odors!

Cooked ground beef being drained and the grease poured into a Piggy Pouch, which is then zip closed and thrown away.

Step 4:  Assemble & Enjoy!

It's time to build your perfect taco:

  • Grab a crunchy or soft shell (or both - we don't judge!).
  • Load it up with seasoned beef, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime.
  • Want extra flavor?  Add salsa, sour cream, or guacamole!
